Valentine's day in Brazil !

In Brazil, the date has a very different story, because it is related to the Portuguese friar Fernando de Bulhões (San Antonio). In his religious preaching, the friar always stressed the importance of love and marriage. Due to their posts, after being canonized, won the fame of "matchmaker".
Therefore, our country has chosen the date of June 12 for being the eve of the day of St. Anthony (June 13). As in many countries of the world, here too it is tradition to exchange gifts and cards among dating couples.

You lose sleep, hunger, rising to the clouds and feel that the life turns upside down. But what ultimately makes a person fall in love with another?

Want to live a great love? Ask us how. It seems a promise of charlatan - after all, nothing is more unpredictable than passion, right? Millions of words have been expended over the centuries to describe the mysteries of her. The mathematician Blaise Pascal ("The heart has its reasons which reason knows own ") to the physicist Albert Einstein ("how science could explain such an important phenomenon as love?"), All the greatest minds of humanity declared themselves powerless to solve mysteries and vagaries of passion. They were wrong. Science is beginning to discover that there is indeed logical in love. And, who knows, even a formula. Mathematicians at the University of Geneva studied marriages, analyzing different characteristics of the spouses, and arrived at a formula that would be the perfect match - with higher rates of happiness and lower risk of separation. The woman should be five years younger and 27% smarter than the man (the ideal is that she has a college degree, and he hasn't). And you have to experiment enough before deciding: a statistical done by analysis John Gilbert and Frederick Mosteller, Harvard University, pointed out that if you have a relationship whit 100 people for life, their chances of finding the perfect match only reach the peak in the 38th relationship. Do this and you will be rewarded with 57% more likely to be happy. But if you think these conditions pointless, or at least difficult to follow, you are right. The conclusions are purely statistical, ie, design an ideal setting and do not take into account the decisions that people actually take: almost all the couples studied by Swiss scientists (to be precise, 99.81%) did not live according to the formula. After all, people are not equations. They are a pile of neurotransmitters, hormones - and experiences. Besides this, we hope that you can find your perfect pair !

How did Valentine's day arose?

The priest Valentine fought against the orders of Emperor Claudius II, who had forbidden the marriage during the war believing that the singles were better fighters. In addition to continuing celebrating marriages, he married secretly, despite the ban of the emperor. Having refused to renounce Christianity, Valentine was sentenced to death. While in jail awaiting the completion of his sentence, he fell in love with a jailer's blind daughter and miraculously restored her sight. Before leaving, Valentine wrote a farewell message to her, in which he signed as "Your Valentine." Considered a martyr for the Catholic Church, the date of his death - February 14 - also marks the eve of Luperce, annual festivals celebrated in ancient Rome in honor of Juno (the Goddess of women and marriage) and Pan (God of nature). One of the rituals of this festival was the parade of fertility, where the priests marched through the city knocking on all women with leather straps goat to ensure fertility. Another version says that in the seventeenth century, British and French began to celebrate Valentine's Day as the union of Valentine's Day. The date was adopted a century after in the United States, becoming the Valantine's Day.In the Middle Ages, it was said that on February 14 was the first day of mating birds. So lovers of the Middle Ages used this opportunity to leave messages of love on the doorstep of the beloved.

Valentine's day !

When you find someone and that someone makes your heart stop working for a few seconds, pay attention: it may be the most important person in your life.If the eyes are crossed and at the moment, there is the same glare between them, stay alert: may be the person you've been waiting since the day you were born.If the touch of your lips is intense, if the kiss is passionate, and your eyes were full of water right now, note: there is something magical between you.If the first and last thought of your day is that person, if the will of being together hurts, thank:God has sent you a gift: Love.So pay attention to the signs - do not let craziness of day-to-day leave you blind to the best thing in life: LOVE.(Carlos Drummond de Andrade)
